Hi everyone! Though there were fewer opportunities for chapter community service last year, this year the goal is to have one organized project per month. All community service projects will be marketed on Blacksburg DECA's social media and you will be told about it in your marketing class. Each nine weeks, you are responsible for completing 3 community service hours, though you can do many more if you want! Below is a form that you will fill out each 9 weeks to log your hours. You must submit proof of the hours you have completed with either a picture of you participating in the activity or a picture of a signature from an adult supervisor to verify that you did your hours. I hope that everyone will participate in our chapter-wide projects, but if you would like to do something on your own, there are plenty of options listed down below. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected].

Logging your hours
Continuing with the virtual submission from last year, you will log your hours via gmail or google form. The email is a last resort if the form isn't working, but we prefer you submit it through the form. If for some reason the form isn't working, you will email [email protected] with the following information. Name, date, Teacher, what you did, how long you did it, and some sort of proof (preferably a signature.)

Service Incentive
You will be required to do fulfill a community service requirement for your marketing class this year. However, if you choose to do extra hours you will be rewarded. For every extra hour you do you will receive 10 DECA Dollars (Ms. Radford) or A DECA star (Ms. Catley.) These will be useful if you're struggling in one or more marketing class and need to raise your grade.
