Community Service

Hey, everyone! I know that there are a lot of unknowns for the foreseeable future but I want you guys to know we will make it through. Community Service is going to look a lot different this year. Normally we have organized events planned by the chapter and stuff to do outside of the school, this will not be the case for at least this first semester. We are going to follow the same guidelines that we did towards the end of the school last year, this means you will be required to fulfill a service requirement assigned by your teachers. I hope that a combination of me and AC's ideas will help you knock these out easy. Be on the lookout in your classroom stream for potential service opportunity that we can do safely and outside. Please see below on how you're going to log your hours. Don't hesitate to email me with any questions at michaelbowen@mcps.org.

Let's rock out this year! - Joe Bowen, VP of Leadership

Logging your hours

Sticking with the virtual theme for the year, you will log your hours via gmail or google form. The email is a last resort if the form isn't working, but we prefer you submit it through the form. If for some reason the form isn't working, you will email blacksburgdecacs@gmail.com with the following information. Name, date, Teacher, what you did, how long you did it, and some sort of proof (preferably a signature.)

Here is the link to the form: Click Here

Service Incentive

You will be required to do fulfill a community service requirement for your marketing class this year. However, if you choose to do extra hours you will be rewarded. For every extra hour you do you will receive 10 DECA Dollars (Ms. Radford) or A DECA star (Ms. Catley.) These will be useful if you're struggling in one or more  marketing class and need to raise your grade.
